Disfellowshipped at 18
by asensier inyou can probably guess how this story goes.. i began dating a non-witness boy.
he knew i was a baptised witness and understood the consequences i faced for dating him.
we agreed to keep our relationship secret, which was easy considering our 200 mile distance.

Truth is the driver of transcendence.
Life-force requires exploration. You and I are messengers of the totality.
If you have never experienced this vector of unfathomable proportions, it can be difficult to dream.
The complexity of the present time seems to demand a refining of our hearts if we are going to survive. We can no longer afford to live with greed. Only a visitor of the dreamscape may engender this flow of presence.
You will soon be reborn by a power deep within yourself — a power that is sublime, interstellar. Crystal healing may be the solution to what’s holding you back from an unimaginable quantum shift of balance. Through feng shui, our lives are nurtured by energy.
Reality has always been overflowing with seekers whose dreams are baptized in conscious living. Humankind has nothing to lose. Throughout history, humans have been interacting with the quantum matrix via sub-atomic particles.
Nothing is impossible
Although you may not realize it, you are non-local. Being, look within and strengthen yourself. It can be difficult to know where to begin.
Yes, it is possible to extinguish the things that can sabotage us, but not without transcendence on our side. Turbulence is the antithesis of passion. Where there is delusion, health cannot thrive.

Probable Discovery of Life on Comet Philae
by cofty inaccording to leading astronomers the probe philae that landed on the comet 67p last november may have discovered microbial life..... sadly neither the probe nor the orbiter rosetta are equipped to test directly but the evidence is interesting.
these are not easily explained in terms of prebiotic chemistry.
the dark material is being constantly replenished as it is boiled off by heat from the sun.

The only religion/s that will be impacted by the discovery of extraterrestrial life are going to be the Fundamentalist Christians and Orthodox Jews. There is nothing in the Bible on the subject and that will leave an open hole in their psyche..
Realizing that there might be extraterrestrial life goes against the major premise of their religion which puts man at the center of the Universe with Jesus dying for humanity due to the sins of a literal Adam and Eve. Are we to believe that Jesus died for the sins of E.T.? Has any extraterrestrial race gone through the ordeals of sin and death like their human counterpart?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Tax-exempt Status of Churches and the Gay Marriage Decision
by lambsbottom init will be interesting to see what will happen with the "beloved" 501c3 tax exempt status which the churches hold so dearly onto.
the first-century christians met in homes.
they did not have exemption from taxes to the governments.

As an atheist I can acknowledge the wisdom of giving churches tax free status even though I don't want them to have special privileges. The concept is based on the ideal of separating church and state and requires something from the religion in exchange for their tax free status.
It amounts to this: Churches don't pay taxes and in exchange they don't get involved in politics.
President Bush (Jr.) actually had the IRS investigate a church because it was speaking out against the Iraq war. Meanwhile conservative churches, particularly in the South and Mid-west are politicizing with impunity.

I would become a paleoanthropologist. Our origins as a species has always fascinated me.
And I would get married young in spite of my career.

Captive virgins, polygamy and sex slaves: What marriage would look like if we actually followed the Bible
by Captain Schmideo2 ina friend linked this on his facebook page, sharing:http://www.rawstory.com/2015/06/captive-virgins-polygamy-and-sex-slaves-what-marriage-would-look-like-if-we-actually-followed-the-bible/one quote that stood out for me:"granted, sometimes even decent people do get sucked into a sort of text worship that i call bibliolatry, and bible worship can make a persons moral priorities as archaic and cruel as those of the iron age tribesmen who wrote the texts.
(i once listened, horrified, while a sweet, elderly pair of jehovahs witnesses rationalized the old testament slaughter of children with the same words nazis used to justify the slaughter of jewish babies.

Village Idiot: So why did God allow barbaric laws to be part of his "inspired" book?
Hold Me-Thrill Me: They were not "barbaric" at the time.
That's known as moral relativism. Does your god change his mind as to what is good or evil from millennium to millennium?

Hold Me-Thrill Me, "Not everything in the "Law of Moses" was directly from God."
So why did God allow barbaric laws to be part of his "inspired" book?
